PATNA: Aditya Ajey, who hails from Chakia village in East Champaran district, has secured the top rank from Bihar by getting 99.99 percentile in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)- Main 2022 Session 1, the results of which were announced by the National Testing Agency on Monday.
He wishes to pursue B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering in his dream college - Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.
The boy has been preparing for the engineering entrance exam since 2020 by staying at Kota, Rajasthan and took admission in Allen Coaching. He studied around 10-12 hours a day to achieve success in JEE exam.
He was preparing online for this exam after the Covid-19 pandemic hit the nation in 2020. Aditya told TNN that he has also applied for the session 2 examination of JEE Main, and was positive to get the perfect 100 scoring in the second exam.
"I am satisfied with the results, but I know I can do better in another attempt," said Aditya, son of Ajay Kumar, teacher in a government school at Motihari. The 17-year-old boy said he started preparing for the session II of JEE Main and JEE Advanced exam to get good score in order to secure a seat at IIT-Bombay. "I want to pursue computer science and engineering to become a software engineer," he said.
Aditya believed he would secure good score in JEE Main but never thought he would emerge the state topper. "My parents are happy with the results, so do I. The paper was not tough, and I was sure to get good marks," he said.
While his preparation was hampered amid the pandemic, he took to online classes to prepare better for JEE Main and test his own abilities. He said that with the support of teachers, he was able to achieve this height.
He did his schooling from Levana Public School, Chakia, Barmadia in Motihari and secured 98% in class X. He completed his intermediate from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith in Deoghar, Jharkhand.
This year, around 80,000 students had appeared for the JEE Main session 1 exam across the state in June. The second phase of registration has ended and the examination is to be held later in July.
