Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:26AM

Vadilal Industries(up 4.50%), Bajaj Consumer(up 3.77%), Future Consumer(up 2.56%), Nakoda Group(up 1.77%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.57%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 1.40%), ADF Foods(up 0.98%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.68%), Dangee Dums(up 0.64%) and Prataap Snacks(up 0.60%) were among the top gainers.

Britannia Industries(down 1.46%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 1.35%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.34%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.31%), Marico(down 1.26%), Heritage Foods(down 1.05%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 1.04%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.03%), Emami(down 0.90%) and Hind.Foods(down 0.89%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 79.55 points down at 16136.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 234.43 points at 54160.8 at around 11:26AM.

Enterprises(up 1.93%), NTPC(up 1.52%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.2%), Coal India(up 0.59%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.54%), Axis Bank(up 0.46%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.4%), Reliance Industries(up 0.3%), State Bank of India(up 0.27%) and Wipro(up 0.27%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 2.75%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.69%), Eicher Motors(down 1.68%), Asian Paints(down 1.47%), Britannia Industries(down 1.46%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.34%), UPL Ltd(down 1.32%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.31%), Tata Steel(down 1.29%) and Grasim Industries(down 1.24%) were trading in the red.
