Guwahati: Body found from rented house, another in a plastic sack

GUWAHATI: Two bodies were recovered by the police in Guwahati on Monday, one of which was found in a decomposed state at a rented house while the other was found packed inside a plastic sack on the roadside.
The first victim has been identified as Dipankar Saikia from Assam’s Lakhimpur district and the second Tinkle Sarma.
Dipankar was found dead at a rented house at Hengerabari area in the city under the jurisdiction of Dispur police station. He was working at a beauty parlour in the city and was staying at the rented house for the last couple of years. Rajib Saikia, officer in-charge of the Dispur police station, “The body has been found in a decomposed manner and the house was locked from inside. The reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained.”
Meanwhile, police recovered a body on the roadside in the Chandmari area, which was later identified as that of Tinkle Sarma. The body was found inside a plastic sack.
Chandmari assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Kongkon Kumar Nath said Ambika Sarma, the father of the victim, surrendered before the police claiming he had killed his son after a scuffle on Sunday.
