Kalaburagi: Ten girls of the Yadaga Government High School on Friday stopped a KKRTC bus for an hour in the rain at Kachuru village in Kalaburagi district when the bus arrived after a one-and-a-half-hour delay.
On Friday, it was raining heavily when the girls were waiting for their village bus from Yadaga to Kukkunda, a distance of about 6 km. The bus was late by one-and-a-half hours. It was dark when the girls started walking back to their village in the rain, after waiting from 5 pm to 6 pm at Yadaga. When the bus came, the girls blocked the bus.
The 10 girls demanded that KKRTC officials come to the spot at Kachur village but no one turned up. The girls did not allow the bus to move for one hour in the rain. Finally, the conductor and driver assured the girls they will be on time from now onwards.
While protesting, five girls fainted and were taken to the Sedam taluk hospital by Kachur villagers.
