Ludhiana: A gang of burglars targeted the house of a transporter in Ranjit Singh Nagar early on Sunday and decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh. The transporter and his family were sleeping in another room at the time. CCTVs installed in the locality have captured five suspects.
In his police complaint, Kanwalpreet Singh said, “I had gone out for some work on Saturday and returned home around 12.30am. Thereafter my family and I went to sleep. At night, we did not hear any noise. And when we woke up in the morning, we found the almirahs open and 400g gold jewellery stolen from lockers. The burglars did not touch anything else in the room.”
