Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.66%), KRISHANA(down 0.97%), Sikko Industries(down 0.41%) and & Fertilizers(down 0.26%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 4.6 points down at 16216.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 86.61 points at 54395.23.
Eicher Motors(up 3.93%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.29%), Tata Steel(up 3.03%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.77%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.15%), JSW Steel(up 1.96%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.89%), Coal India(up 1.87%), Asian Paints(up 1.85%) and ICICI Bank(up 1.83%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 4.98%), Tata Consultancy(down 4.64%), HCL Technologies(down 4.07%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.89%), Infosys(down 2.73%), Wipro(down 1.88%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.85%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.45%), Tata Motors(down 1.02%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.8%) closed in the red.
