Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The miscreants escaped after committing robbery on a restaurant owner just 100 metres away from Nanakheda police station here on Monday. The accused ate food and threatened the restaurant owner on the tip of a knife when asked to pay for the food they had. They reportedly fled after looting Rs 5k.
Maa Chamunda Restaurant is in Nanakheda Bus Stand area. On Monday evening, Nilesh Goswami and Rakesh Jaiswal came to eat food. Both ordered and ate a full meal. When they started coming out after eating food, the operator Kuldeep Jaiswal asked for Rs 200 according to the bill. On this both got angry and took out a knife. They threw away food items and took out around Rs 5k kept in the cash box.
Jaiswal said that the accused Nilesh Goswami is a goon of the area and he came every day in the evening for the last 10 to 15 days. He left the restaurant without paying the bill every time. On Monday when he was asked to pay, he created a scene. He showed a knife to a woman working there and threatened that if they reported the matter to police, he would kill her too. When Jaiswal asked for money, he and his associate destroyed the whole restaurant.
Sub-inspector (SI) Santosh Pathak said that Nilesh is a history-sheeter. He had asked for Rs 500 as ‘hafta’ (weekly money). When the operator refused to give the hafta, he robbed the bag, ransacked goods and ran to kill the owner with a knife. A case has been registered against the accused.
