- Chris Hemsworth says he would like Liam to play a version of Thor if they ever explored the Multiverse.
- He further revealed that Liam was almost cast as Thor, having made it to the top five in the audition process.
- The Spiderhead actor's daughter, twin sons, wife and older brother Luke all appear in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Another Hemsworth brother almost bagged the role of Thor.
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe exploring the Multiverse, Chris was asked in an interview with MensXP who he would like to play a version of Thor.
He replied: "My little brother (Liam Hemsworth) almost got cast as Thor. He was one of the first people who got right down to the wire on getting the part, so I don't know, I could cross paths with him. That will be fun."
This is not the first time the 38-year-old mentioned Liam almost got the role. In an episode of Wired Autocomplete, the Spiderhead actor revealed that he auditioned for the role many years ago and didn't get a callback.
"I think my audition sucked; I think that was the response I got," he said.
He added that Liam auditioned and got very close - "down to the last five people and then didn't get it".
"They were like, 'Look, he's great, but he's a bit young.' My manager said, 'Well, he has an older brother,' which was me.
"I came back in, re-auditioned a few times and just had a different attitude. Maybe I had a little more sort of motivation that my little brother got a look in and I hadn't. I also had done a couple of films in between those two auditions, so I had a bit more experience and confidence in what I was going to do," he recalled.
While brother Liam might not feature in a Thor movie just yet, other members of Chris' family have. His older brother Luke had a cameo as an Asgardian actor playing Thor in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Chris' real-life daughter India plays Christian Bale's daughter in the film, his twin sons Tristan and Sasha, and his wife Elsa Pataky also make an appearance, according to Entertainment Weekly.
During a cast roundtable with the publication, Bale said that working with India was a memorable moment for him.
"She was so magnificent in it. But it was also so cute seeing your [Chris'] relationship and her having to be like, 'Who's this weird bald bloke who's all covered in scars and crying over [me]?' [I saw] what a good dad you are, gently coaxing her through it, like, 'No, just stay there. I know he's a bit disgusting, but just stay there.'"
Marvel further confirmed that Natalie Portman's son and daughter, Bale's children, and one of director Taika Waititi's daughters also appear in the film.
"It was not always the plan," said Waititi.
"The idea started really when Chris was talking about [his daughter] India. And he was like, 'Oh, you know, it would kind of be quite cool for me to be in a scene with my daughter.' I started looking around like, oh, everyone has kids. All of these actors have kids."
