Ujjain: Divisional Commissioner, IG review Lord Mahakal’s sawari arrangements

The administrative authorities directed the concerned persons to complete the ongoing construction works in and around the temple premises within the time-limit.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional commissioner Sandeep Yadav, IG Santosh Kumar Singh along with senior officials on Monday reviewed the arrangements for the traditional Sawari of Lord Mahakal to be taken out during the month of Shravan-Bhadav.

The administrative authorities directed the concerned persons to complete the ongoing construction works in and around the temple premises within the time-limit. Instructions were given to the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee administrator to install CCTV cameras at major places. Instructions regarding barricading were given so that they are installed systematically, so that no inconvenience is caused to the visitors. On August 2, being Nag Panchami, they inspected the works of the temporary foot over bridge (FOB) and gave directions to the concerned officials. Information regarding temporary foot over bridge was also obtained. The foot over bridge will be 30 metres long and three metres wide. The Commissioner instructed the concerned construction agency that the foot over bridge should be made systematic and strong.

After taking review of the arrangements made for barricades for the movement of devotees, directions were given to the public works department’s executive engineer. Administrative officers first inspected the VIP route of Begum Bagh. They walked and inspected the Mahakal temple complex from Begum Bagh. They instructed that visitors coming from faraway places should not face any kind of difficulty in commuting during the month of Shravan. After this, the officials took review of the arrangements for entry and exit of visitors to Harsiddhi intersection, parking space near Chardham and gave directions to the concerned. They also inspected the traditional sawari route of Lord Mahakal.

DIG Anil Kushwaha, collector Asheeh Singh, SP Satyendra Kumar Shukla, Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) commissioner Anshul Gupta, ADM Santosh Tagore and other officers were present during the inspection.

FIRST SAWARI ON JULY 18

In the sequence of the Sawari of Lord Mahakal coming in the month of Shravan and Bhadav, the first Sawari will be taken out on July 18, second on July 25, third on August 1, fourth on August 8, fifth on August 15 and the Shahi Sawari on August 22. The festival of Nagpanchami will be celebrated on August 2. On this day the devotees can have darshan of Shri Nagchandreshwar Mandir, which opens once a year.
