VADODARA: Fresh Covid-19 cases in Vadodara city and district remained above the 60 mark for the second consecutive day on Saturday.
A day after it registered 64 fresh Covid-19 cases, the city and district registered 61 fresh Covid-19 cases. It was on June 26 that the daily fresh Covid-19 cases had crossed the 60 mark. Later, however, the fresh cases were on a decline.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic has touched 1,35,471. Results were from 2,410 samples that were tested in 24 hours ending on Saturday evening. The official death toll remained stagnant at 757.
The fresh cases were reported from Akota, Atladara, Bapod, Bhayli, Chhani, Diwalipura, Gorwa, Gotri, Jetalpur, Kapurai, Makarpura, Manjalpur, Navapura, Nava yard, Ramdevnagar, Sama, Subhanpura, Sudamapuri, Tandalja, Tarsali, Motipura, Sokhda, Limda, Ranoli, Padra, Handod and Por areas of city and district.
On Saturday, 36 patients were declared discharged. The total number of discharged patients since the pandemic began reached 1,34,380.
The number of active cases on the other hand has reached 334 of which 320 patients are under home isolation while 14 others are hospitalised. Of these, only one patient is requiring treatment with oxygen support.
A total of 244 individuals are under quarantine. Of the fresh cases, 31 are from the west zone of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) followed by nine from Vadodara rural, eight in VMC’s south zone, seven in the north and six in east zone.
