BERHAMPUR: Mayor of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC), Sanghamitra Dalai, on Friday night turned good Samaritan by helping two women injured in a road accident at Lanjipalli bypass road here.
While passing by, Dalai noticed the two women lying injured on the road and shifted them to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in her vehicle. She also waited at the hospital and spoke to the doctors in the emergency ward to ensure proper treatment.
The two women, aged 25 and 35, residents of Bijipur area, were going to attend a function at Lanjipalli when an unknown car hit their two-wheeler.
“When my husband Bhimsen Dalai and I, along with others, were going to attend a feast at about 9.30 pm, I noticed the accident victims. I stopped my vehicle and approached them. Without inquiring about their identities and waiting for the emergency ambulance, we rushed them to the hospital in our vehicle. After the doctors started their treatment, we returned from the hospital,” Dalai said.
