Congress posters accuse BJP of having links with terrorists

The posters put up by Congress were removed within an hour
RAJKOT: Challenging the ruling dispensation ahead of the assembly elections, the opposition Congress in Rajkot on Friday put up posters in various parts of city accusing the BJP of having links with terrorists.
While the grand old party was geared to fuel its campaign further, Congress members alleged that the posters had been removed within hours by the police and municipal corporation.
Party up the six posters at Balaji hall, Radhe Chokdi and Bapa Sitaram chowk accusing the BJP of having links with both terrorists — Riyaz Attari of Udaipur and Talib Hussain of Jammu. The posters were the part of national campaign launched by the Congress highlighting BJP’s nexus with both the terrorists in Udaipur beheading incident of tailor Kanhiya Lal and the other extremist who was arrested for terrorist links in Jammu.
Mayur Vank, vice president of Rajkot city youth Congress said, “These posters are the part of our national campaign to expose the BJP. However, the posters were removed within an hour by the police and municipal corporation and when I inquired, I was told by the RMC staff that they were following their superiors’ orders.”
The Congress put up posters again on Saturday to protest against price rise. The posters carrying two pictures of Union minister Smriti Irani one of 2014 in which she is seen protesting against gas cylinder price of Rs 400 and another of 2022 in which she is seen laughing besides a gas cylinder priced at Rs 1,053.
The posters coincide BJP state president C R Paatil’s visit to the city on Saturday to take part in the party’s advocate conference organized by the legal cell of the BJP.
