Seedlings distributed to farmers

Thiruvananthapuram: The Parassala grama panchayat in association with the Krishi Bhavan has distributed 7,450 pepper seedlings as part of the Farmers’ Assembly and Njattuvela Chantha on Friday. The Njattuvela Chantha was organized with the objectives of making the services of Krishi Bhavan effective at the lower level, involving farmers in agriculture development and planning and making them aware of agricultural schemes. At the same time, they have also distributed 2,500 vegetable seedlings as part of the Oru Muram Pachakari scheme which targets Onam.
As part of the Njattuvela Chantha, the West Coast Nediyan coconut variety seedlings were distributed to the farmers at 50% subsidy. In addition, there was a sale of vegetables, seeds, grow bags, organic fertilizers and pesticides. tnn
