Bhopal: 'Manav Sangrahalaya has everything related to traditional architecture'

Students of Arvind Bhai Patel Architectural College Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat visited Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya Bhopal.

Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): The students of Arvind Bhai Patel Architectural College Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat visited Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya Bhopal.

The college organised the educational tour under the direction of architects Devyani Srivastava and Sampoorna Patnaik.

P Shankar Rao, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Geetu Vaikhom, officials of the museum told all the students about the museum's exhibits, exhibitions and traditional architecture. A documentary film based on the museum was screened by the Cine Video Section under direction of HBS Parihar.

After that, students under the guidance of P Shankar Rao visited the Rock Art Exhibition, Tribal Habitat Open Air Exhibition, Himalayan Village Open Air Exhibition, Veethi Sankul indoor museum.

While visiting the exhibition centred on tribal art, everyone got to know in detail about the rural culture and folk art of India, and various aspects of architecture.

Director of Museum PK Mishra, in his message, said that the traditional technology of building houses in India was all-weather and environment-friendly. In Indian traditional architecture, the students studying architecture should pay attention to the issues related to climate of the region, locally available building materials, crafts, skills and different types of arts of that region.

Senior Architect Devyani Srivastava said that Manav Sangrahalaya was a heritage of traditional architecture where everything related to subject can be learned.
