Bhopal: Theatre workshop ends with play Gurudakshina

About 25 children acted in one-hour 10-minute play.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Gurudakshina play written and directed by Ashwin Singh Rawat was staged on the last day of 30-day presentational theatrical workshop of Admire Theatre at Government High School in Barkheda Nathu on Saturday.

About 25 children acted in one-hour 10-minute play. The story of the play begins with Anay, a school child who gets scolded by his principal that why he can’t be like his father. Then, his mother narrates the story of his father to him.

Vijay meets Geeta Devi and after hearing about his story, she decides to teach him like a guru. After she tells him that she lost her eyes while serving the country, Vijay decides to join army and after becoming an army officer, he gets shot in an encounter. As he realises that he would die soon, he gives a letter to his companion and tells him to donate his eyes and letter to his guru Geeta Devi as Gurudakshina.

The principal tells Anay that the guru to whom your father gave his eyes to Gurudakshina was him. He apologises to Geeta Devi and promises that he will also be like his father.
