GREATER NOIDA: Eight people were injured after an unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed into an auto which was been pulled by a tractor in Dadri area of Greater Noida on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Police have not received any official complaint in this matter, however, legal proceedings have been initiated.
According to the police, a passerby came to the Kot police post at around 12 midnight on Saturday and informed that an accident had taken place.
“A team from the post immediately rushed to the spot and found an auto as well as a tractor in damaged condition. However we couldn't find the vehicle which had rammed into them. Eight people were there in the two vehicles and were taken to the hospital with help of locals,” Rakesh Kumar, station house officer of Dadri police station said.
The injured are Ankush Singh (27), Vishal Singh (23) - who were in the auto while the occupants of the tractor are found to be Hari (22), Vivek Singh (25), Kishan Kumar (28), Rohit Singh ( 24), Ashwani (24) and Akhilesh (23).
“During investigation, it was found that the auto had broken down and therefore was being pulled by the tractor. It was heading from Dadri area to Sikandrabad and when it reached Kot area, a vehicle rammed into the auto from behind and sped away. We are trying to identify the vehicle with the help of CCTV footages of the area,” the SHO said.
“All of them received minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital on Saturday afternoon. None of them have come to us and given a formal complaint but it seems that the heavy vehicle was a canter truck,” Kumar added.
