BHopal(Madhya Pradesh): A dance drama ‘Anhad ’ is being prepared under a Yoga-Music-Dance workshop at Utkal Bhavan  in the city. Chaitanya Socio Cultural Society in association with Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi organised the workshop which began on June 21. It is being prepared under the direction of  Shruti Kirti Barik and choreographed by Chandra Madhav Barik.

Barik said that the main objective of the workshop is to give yoga the form of ballet through music and dance. The dance drama, based on the seven chakras, will be staged on the concluding day of the workshop i.e July 13 at Arghya Kala Samiti, Gandhi Bhavan at 7pm.

The seven chakras will be shown through dance and the combined use of various Asanas. This is an experimental ballet. At some places, big coloured cloths will be used to show the different chakras. Various yogic asanas and movements have been used in it,” Barik said

The music of the dance-drama is directed by Surendra Wankhede.  Shlokas, prayers and mantras have also been used in the dance drama, Barik added. .
