Army jawan Naik Jasvir Singh was killed by terrorists near Garang Nar during a gunfight while fighting to stop them from infiltrating the border from Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Singh, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds was evacuated to a Military hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Reportedly, a terrorist was also killed in the gunfight that happened at Line of Control in the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district.

According to reports, around three-four heavily armed terrorists from Pakistan village attempted to infiltrate. While, an ambush by the Indian army was laid to dominate the are between Garang Nar and Chinar Mohalla.

The ambush party attacked the terrorists continually, however, when they tried to cross the Indian side, an exchange of fire happened. In the gunfire, one terrorist was killed and the other two escaped.
