Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday stepped up an attack against the Shinde camp and claimed that Eknath Shinde is the BJP CM and not Shiv Sena CM. He said that he will prefer death but not surrender before BJP in a bid to survive in politics.

‘’The Chief Minister of Maharashtra is from BJP. There is a BJP Chief Minister in Karnataka. The BJP is in power in Delhi. The question of the border with Belgaum is pending in the Supreme Court. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra should ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to make Belgaum a Union Territory till the court rules. Shinde should return to Maharashtra with that decision,’’ said Shinde.

‘’We have been informed by the Belgaum delegation that Marathi-speaking people in the border areas have been suffering since the Thackeray government collapsed,’’ he noted.

‘’If the Chief Minister belongs to Shiv Sena, then why has he gone to Delhi to decide the cabinet. Shiv Sena High Command is in Mumbai,’’ said Raut referring to the two-day Delhi visit of Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

‘’Will the new government allow the division of Maharashtra, separating Mumbai from the state and also shifting of industries to other states?’’ he asked.

Raut said the Shinde camp should stop giving reasons for its rebellion. ‘’On the first day after the coup, the rebel MLAs claimed it was on the issue of Hindutva. The next day they said that the NCP, which held the finance and planning departments, did not give adequate funds. Thereafter, they cited that Uddhav Thackeray did not give them time to meet, therefore they left the party,’’ he added.

Raut further said the Shinde camp also complained about the interference of Aaditya Thackeray in their work and they decided to part ways due to the coterie around Thackeray. He asked the rebel camp to stop giving these reasons for their decision to quit the party.
