Bootlegger Aslam alias Bodiyo Sheikh’s wife lied in court: Cops

VADODARA: The detection of crime branch (DCB) has filed a complaint against Shehnaz Sheikh, wife of notorious bootlegger Aslam alias Bodiyo Sheikh, for making false claims about her illness in the court. Sheikh had filed a bail application for Aslam in the court citing her illness and to arrange money for it.
The crime branch began an inquiry to ascertain if Shehnaz was really ill and had required any hospitalization. Cops called up the doctor in the hospital concerned and he confirmed that Shehnaz wasn’t admitted for any illness. The doctor further told the cops that she was only given medicines and even if she undergoes surgery, Shehnaz would be given discharge in a day.
The police also learnt that the surgery would only have nominal cost and she won’t need any caretaker.
The government prosecutor informed the court about the police’s findings, following which Aslam’s bail application was rejected. The court also directed the police to file a complaint against Shehnaz.
