GURUGRAM: The city reported 196 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, while the positivity rate remained at 4.9%. On Thursday, the city had recorded 202 cases.
Gurugram currently has 737 active cases, out of which 17 patients are hospitalised.
The health department conducted 4,004 tests on Friday, while 4,090 samples were tested on Thursday. The city logged a total of 8,046 cases in June, compared to 7,619 in May and 5,894 in April.
According to the doctors, symptoms of the new Covid cases are mild. Patients are nowadays complaining of cold, cough, fever and fatigue. “The rate of infection has also come down. However, we are keeping a close watch on home isolated patients to ensure that no one turns severe suddenly. We appeal to everyone to take the booster dose at the earliest,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurugram.
Haryana, meanwhile, witnessed 353 new cases on Thursday. The state now has 1,895 active cases while the positivity rate is 2.4%.
A total of 29,572 people were vaccinated on Friday in which 2,218 received their first dose and 9,211 persons received their second dose of vaccination. As many as 18,143 persons have also taken precautionary doses.
