Ahmedabad: Ex-wife remarries man, violence returns

AHMEDABAD: A 33-year-old woman from Sarkhej on Friday filed a complaint with police alleging that she was cheated by her husband, whom she married for the second time after separating from him, as he had promised her a better life. He had also vowed to never beat her again.
According to the complaint filed under the charges of breach of trust and the Domestic Violence Act, the complainant married a man from Fatehwadi on March 31, 2019.
She said that soon after their wedding, her husband and in-laws began to hit her. She also alleged that her husband was in a relationship with another woman and when she objected, he hit her and abandoned her in October 2012.
She legally separated on December 3, 2020. A family court ordered him to pay her alimony of Rs 5.25 lakh.
After a month, he approached her and promised on a legal document that he would not subject her to violence. After she married him again, he started hitting her.
