Odisha: Charges filed in lensman murder case

BHUBANESWAR: The state crime branch on Friday submitted its chargesheet in a court at Chandbali in Bhadrak district against eight accused in the murder of cameraman Manas Swain.
The chargesheet has named web channel editor Sarmistha Rout and retired OIS officer Niranjan Sethy, among others. Swain was allegedly kidnapped and murdered on February 7. “Sarmistha had been trying to obtain some videos and photos from Swain, who used to work under her. When he did not return the videos and photos, she hatched the murder plan,” an officer said.
