Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): A seven-year-old boy in Salamgarh, Sailana died after his father branded him multiple times with a hot iron rod to cure his disease. The deceased has been identified as Bharat son of Narsingh Khradi who was brought to Ratlam's Mother and Child hospital in severe condition with a lot of burn injuries over his head, hand and legs.
According to information, Bharat was suffering from tremors along with fever and vomiting. His father’s act of branding him with a hot iron rod resulted in his condition becoming more critical and he was admitted to a hospital in the Dalot area.
From there he was referred to Ratlam, where he died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the local Mother and Child Hospital on Saturday morning. Dr Naved Qureshi of ICU stated that the child was brought to an unconscious state with high fever, vomiting and diarrhoea. He also had many burn injuries.
Later, the hospital informed the police about his death, and then the local police informed the Salamgarh police station in Pratapgarh district. The proceedings of the case will be carried out by Salamgarh police station.
