Mumbai on Saturday received intermittent rainfall with some light and moderate showers. Though it did not lead to waterlogging as it did at the beginning of this month amid heavy downpours, a few incidents of houses and trees collapsing were reported in a few places.
In total, seven houses reportedly caved due to flooding in some areas while nine trees were uprooted due to strong wind. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
In the last 24 hours, IMD's Colaba observatory recorded 7.6 mm rainfall while Santacruz witnessed 5.5 mm rainfall.
So far, 1,013 mm and 1,097.7 mm has been recorded at Colaba and Santacruz observatories, respectively.
Owing to the heavy rainfall this week, the water stock in the seven lakes has risen to 4,18,129 million litres, which is a sufficient supply for over three months.
