Tamil actor Vikram has been admitted to Kauvery hospital in Chennai. Vikram’s spokesperson said the star was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest discomfort. However, a certain section of the media reported that Vikram suffered a heart attack.
Vikram’s manager Suryanarayanan M in a series of tweets asked fans not to believe in rumors. “Dear fans and wellwishers, Chiyaan Vikram had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He DID NOT have a heart attack as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect. That being said, we request you to give him and the family the privacy they need at this time. Our dear Chiyaan is fine now. He is likely to be discharged from hospital in a day. We hope this statement provides clarity and trust that the false rumours will be put to rest (sic),” he tweeted.
Vikram was supposed to take part in the teaser launch of Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 that is set to happen today evening in Chennai. He has played one of the lead roles in the two-part epic drama, which is written and directed by Mani Ratnam. There seems to be no change in the schedule of the event in the wake of recent developments.
On the work front, Vikram was last seen in Mahaan, which was released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. The actor shared screen space with his son Dhruv Vikram in the Karthik Subbaraj directorial.
