Union home minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that the Jammu and Kashmir administration has established a decisive domination over terrorism in the Valley under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The minister virtually unveiled the 'Statue of Peace' of prominent Vedic philosopher and reformer Ramanujacharya at Surya temple in Sonawar area of Srinagar. He said this premises will be a wonderful place for yatris to visit in the summer capital of J&K.
"Under the leadership of Manoj Sinha, J&K is on the path of peace and development. The J&K administration, following the guidance of Modiji, has achieved a decisive domination over terrorism in the Valley," Shah said, addressing a function held in Srinagar via videoconference. "For a long time the people of the nation wanted to integrate J&K irreversibly with the rest of the country and Modiji fulfilled this wish of the countrymen on August 5, 2019, when Article 370 was revoked."
Shah said the decision ushered a new era of peace and development in J&K. He laid the foundation of Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt in Srinagar. "Unveiling the statue of peace in this holy place of Srinagar is a good sign for the people of India, especially the people of J&K," he said.
Shah said he was hopeful and believed the statue would bring the blessings and teachings of Ramanujacharya to the people of all religions in Kashmir and take them on the path of peace and development.
