Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Public Works Department will develop a railway overbridge in the Mhow area which will help in smooth flow of traffic in the city and provide ease in transport of army vehicles and other services.
PWD officials said that a tender had been invited for the construction of an ROB at Mhow near Cantonment Entry Tax Plaza. The price of the project is expected to be of Rs 18.36 crore.
Officials said that the bridge will be a two-lane affair, which will be 7.5 metres wide. There will also be footpaths on both sides which will be three metres wide. The length of the bridge will be 765.5 metres.
The officials said that there was a requirement of a bridge because, every time a train passes along the tracks over there, a traffic jam occurs. The lane for crossing of vehicles is also very small.
According to information from the local residents, this route is majorly used by army vehicles as it gives direct connectivity to defence vehicles with the army cantonment area at Mhow.
