Thane: In a tragic accident a 24-year-old resident of Ulhasnagar lost his life when his bike was hit by a truck at Mankoli Naka in Bhiwandi on Wednesday, July 6 at around 9:45 pm.
The incident occurred near the bridge at Mankoli Naka when the biker was on his way to Thane.
Madan Ballal, senior police inspector, Narpoli police station said, "Rahman Asrar Shah(24) was traveling from Ulhasnagar to Thane for some personal work when his bike was hit by a truck at around 9:45pm at Mankoli Naka bridge in Bhiwandi. Shah lived with his family in Vitthal Nagar area of Ulhasnagar. The driver of the truck ran away from the spot after the accident. We have taken the truck into possession and soon the driver will be arrested."
Ballal further added, "When the passers-by informed us about the accident our team rushed to the spot and and admitted Shah to IGM Hospital in Bhiwandi where doctor declared him dead before admission. We have registered a case against the unknown driver for causing death by negligence under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. "
