Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to marry Dr Gurpreet Kaur: 10 things to know about the Haryana doctor

NEW DELHI: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann will tie the nuptial knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur in a private ceremony on Thursday. The ceremony will take place at Mann's residence in Chandigarh.
Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal is expected to attend the ceremony. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said the wedding will be a small function attended by only family members, besides Kejriwal.
Sharing a picture with Mann on Instagram, Chadha wrote, "Best wishes to my vadde veer (elder brother) Bhagwant Mann Saab and Dr Gurpreet Kaur for a happy and blessed married life."

Here are 10 things to know about Dr Gurpreet Kaur:
* Gurpreet hails from a village in Pehowa area of Kurukshetra district in Haryana.
* She studied at the medical college at Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU) in Ambala district.
* Gurpreet Kaur, known as Gopi in her family and close circle, completed her MBBS four years ago.
* She is a practicing doctor and currently lives in Mohali with her family.
* Her father Inderjit Singh Natt has a property at Natt Farm in Madanpur village area, Pehowa.
* He was the sarpanch of Madanpur village and nearly a year ago, the family bought a house in Mohali.
* Gurpreet's uncle Gurjinder Singh Natt is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party.
* Natt said there were talks of marriage in the family for about two years.
* According to party sources, the chief minister’s mother and sister chose Gurpreet to be Mann's bride-to-be.
* Gurpreet and Mann's families have been associated for about four years, sources said.
Bhagwant Mann was previously married to Inderpreet Kaur and their children – Seerat (21) and Dilshan (17) live in the United States. Mann and his first wife had filed for divorce in a Mohali court in 2015. Mann's children visited India in March this year to attended his swearing-in ceremony as the chief minister of Punjab.
