Thane: The regional disaster management cell (RDMC) Thane, along with the help of the school teachers of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) school number 48, successfully evacuated 22 students on Thursday at Kokani Pada, Pokhran No. 2 at Thane (West).
RDMC chief Avinash Sawant informed, "We received a complaint about at the disaster management room of RDMC at around 1:47 pm on Thursday about Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) switchboard fire in TMC school. Soon after receiving the complaint the disaster management cell team, along with fire brigade personnel and MSEDCL staff, reached the spot with one bike ambulance, one rescue vehicle and one fire vehicle. We brought the situation under control and no one was injured in the incident."
Sawant added, "Our team, with the help of the school teachers, safely evacuated 22 students of the school and they have been relocated to the nearby Shiv Sena branch at Kokani Pada in Thane (West)."
