Mumbai: The Covid-19 positive cases in the city dropped to 540 on Thursday from 695 recorded on the previous day. However, the city recorded two fresh deaths with a 90-year-old patient with comorbidities and a 9-month-old infant. The death toll till date stands at 19,622.
The positive cases rose to 659 on Tuesday and 695 on Wednesday. However, the cases dropped to 540 with 94 per cent asymptomatic cases. At present, the city has 4875 active cases but the daily tests were only 9929 on Thursday. The recovery rate touched 98 per cent, while the doubling days is 949 days with a growth rate of 0.070 %.
The senior citizen who died had hypertension and hernia. While the infant had ischemic heart disease and Down syndrome.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 2,678 new cases and eight deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing its tally to 79,95,729 with 1,47,964 fatalities so far.
