The NSE Nifty index closed 143.1 points up at 16132.9, while BSE Sensex ended up 427.49 points at 54178.46.
On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), .(down 1.09 per cent), .(down 1.03 per cent), .(down 1.02 per cent) and .(down 1.00 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
