Navi Mumbai: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Ulwe Node 1 and 2 in association with Ramsheth Thakur Samajik Vikas Mandal (RTSVM) conducted a book distribution program early this week.
More than 1600 books were distributed among needy students. The outfit distributed textbooks among Zilla Parishad School students.
The books were distributed by BJP's Panvel taluka president Arunsheth Bhagat distributed free textbooks to students at Zilla Parishad schools at Shelghar, Bamandongri, Belpada, Jawale in Panvel taluka.
Every year, at the beginning of the academic session, the RTSVM distributes books among poor and needy students. This year, they distributed 107 books in Shelghar, 364 books in Belpada, 1133 books in Bamandongri and 132 books in Jawale village.
On the occasion, Shelghar BJP President Amrit Bhagat, Taluka Gavan Gram Panchayat Deputy Sarpanch Vijay Gharat, Vahal Gram Panchayat Deputy Sarpanch Amar Mhatre among others were present.
