NOIDA: Anticipating a rise in the number of fever cases in the coming days due to communicable and vector-borne diseases in Gautam Budh Nagar, the chief medical officer has formed a district-level control room to monitor the situation.
Dr Sunil Sharma, CMO, Gautam Budh Nagar, said, “A four-member rapid response team will monitor cases of dengue and malaria, which cause fever. In case of a sudden increase in the number of patients with fever due to dengue and malaria, the dedicated teams will take spontaneous action, ensuring treatment for the patients and updating the district malaria officer about the situation.”
The team will include a medical officer, a lab technician, a malaria inspector, a field worker and an ASHA worker. The state health minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak, on July 1 had also inaugurated a month-long campaign against vector-borne diseases at the District Hospital in Sector 30 of Noida.
As part of the campaign, medical teams, along with ASHA workers, will carry out a Dastak initiative, go door to door and identify patients with fever and other symptoms of dengue and malaria for immediate care. In addition, officials will carry out fogging and clear water that gets tsored during the rains.
“While the teams from the health department are already in the field creating awareness around vector-borne diseases, I would request people to take adequate care and visit the doctor in case of fever. In addition, people must be careful about cleanliness in their surroundings and clear stored water,” the official said on Tuesday.
