Karnataka: After the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an Orange Alert and warned for heavy to very heavy rainfall in costal areas of Karnataka, the state government stepped in to ensure safety of the citizens. The district administrations of Udupu and Dakshina Kannada (DK) have instructed all schools, colleges, and all other educational institutes to remain closed today, July 6.
In support of the district administrations, the Deputy Commissioners, K V Rajendra and M Kurma Rao of DK and Udupi respectively have decided to keep all educational institutes closed for today. Udupi DC, in his order, said, “all private and government colleges and schools in the district will remain closed in the district on Wednesday.”
