Mahua Moitra lands in trouble by calling goddess Kaali a meat-eating deity; TMC distances itself from MP’s remarks

TMC MP Mahua Moitra, on Tuesday, said Kaali to her is a meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess. The TMC leader’s remarks come in the backdrop of the controversy surrounding the poster of performance documentary Kaali, which showed the goddess smoking a cigarette and holding an LGBTQ+ flag. The Trinamool Congress distanced itself from party MP Mahua Moitra’s remarks on goddess Kaali and said that it does not endorse it “in any manner or form”.
