Chhattisgarh BJP's women cell will stage a single-day demonstration in Janjgir-Champa against the brutal rape and murder of 55 years old widow at her house in the district.

The accused who was arrested by police had not only sexually assaulted the old widow but also killed the victim in a barbaric way similar to Nirbhaya.

According to the police, a frying pan handle was inserted into the private parts of the victim, her ribs were broken. However, after the incident, police arrested the accused.

Moreover, after the brutal incident, the BJP state women cell continuously launched attacks on the Congress government over the escalated crime graph and increased number of offences against women.

A press release issued by the BJP women's cell highlighted that in the last 37 months, 5,153 cases of sexual assaults were registered in the state which reflects the poor state of law and order situation.

As per NCRB figures, Chhattisgarh ranks sixth on the national frame in rape cases, which shows that the ruling Congress government is doing nothing to provide protection to girls and women in the state, Puja Vidhani BJP leader alleged.

The Government’s lacklustre attitude towards women’s security has boosted the confidence of offenders, Therefore, to register a protest against the feeble law and order situation one-day demonstration will be held in Janjgir-Champa district on July 7, BJP women cell said in a press note.
