COIMBATORE: The corporation is pushing for to get an electricity connection for the newly constructed Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility at RS Puram so that chief minister M K Stalin can inaugurate the facility during his visit to the city on July 15.
Though construction work of the facility was completed last year, its inauguration was delayed due to issues in getting an approval from the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), a corporation official said. “All the queries raised by the DTCP were answered and the clearance has been obtained. Now we have to get an electricity connection before the CM’s visit.”
The five-storey facility was built at a cost of 41.67 crore on 11,600sqm area. A total of 370-380 cars can be accomated in the facility.
On projects slotted for opening, the official said the CM will inaugurate boating services at Valankulam, which would be jointly operated by the city corporation and Tamil Nadu Tourism and Development Corporation (TTDC). tnn
