GURUGRAM: The city reported 154 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, less than 200 cases for the third consecutive day. The positivity rate saw a marginal rise at 3.6% as compared to 3.5% the previous day.
Gurugram currently has 745 active cases, out of which 31 patients are hospitalised.
The district health department conducted 4,229 tests on Tuesday, while 4,033 samples were tested on Monday.
The city logged a total of 8,046 cases in June, compared to 7,619 in May and 5,894 in April.
According to doctors, the symptoms of the new Covid cases are mild — cold, cough, fever and fatigue. “Most patients are presenting mild flu-like symptoms which start with a scratchy throat and running nose, followed by fever, headache, body aches and a dry cough. Since it is mostly involving the upper respiratory tract, patients with Covid these days don’t have shortness of breath unlike those in the previous waves,” a doctor said.
Haryana, meanwhile, witnessed 349 new cases on Tuesday. The state now has 2,016 active cases while the positivity rate is 2.7%. The state recorded one death during the day, from Hisar district. The total cases recorded in the state so far are 10,17,929, with 10,05,264 recoveries, 10,626 deaths and 2,016 active cases. Active cases include 82 patients in hospitals.On Tuesday, Faridabad added 56 cases, Panchkula 42, Karnal 24, Yamunanagar 11, Hisar 10, Sirsa eight, Rohtak and Bhiwani six each. Ambala, Panipat, Kurukshetra and Kaithal reported five cases each, four cases each were reported from Jind and Jhajjar, and one case each was reported from Sonipat, Mahendergarh, Rewari and Fatehabad.
