Thiruvananthapuram: Man wanted in assault case arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city police arrested the main accused in a case related to theft and assault here on Tuesday. The arrested person has been identified as Ajith, 22, a resident of Vazhathottam near Koliyoor in Thiruvallom.
The incident related to the case happened in 2020. Ajith and his gang had assaulted Akhil Dev after the latter refused to give his motorcycle for a ride. Dev was attacked using a sword and machete and the gang stole his mobile phone and his bike.
The police had earlier arrested Deepu, Vishnu and Dileep in connection with the case. A special team was formed to track Ajith who was in hiding for the past two years. He is also an accused in the case related to vandalizing the police vehicle at Thiruvallom station.
Ajith was produced in the court and remanded in judicial custody.
