Armaan Ralhan is all set to make a splash on the OTT with a series titled Shoorveer. The series sees him play an Indian Air Force pilot. The actor, who has had a checkered career, wants to wow the audience with his performance.

Armaan, who made his acting debut in Befikre (2016), went unnoticed since the film didn’t do well at the box office. Speaking about this, he shares, “I feel blessed and couldn’t complain. I am a Mumbai boy and live with my family. I was patient since I had all the basics for survival. I felt a little upset but my performance was appreciated and many filmmakers reached out to me after Befikre. I saw the positive side of being in a film like Befikre, else a solo hero film wouldn’t get me so many eyeballs.”

He was also seen in Ajeeb Daastaans. When asked if he considers himself lucky, he reveals, “I met Shashank Khaitan briefly in the Dharma office when I had gone there for a meeting. He liked my work in Befikre and we kept in touch. While he was casting for it, he called me to audition for my part. I knew I was going to do this but I had to convince him.”

Adding further he says, “I was not at all apprehensive about playing my part in Ajeeb Daastaans. I was excited to play something which I am not in real life. I had to change my appearance in terms of body weight. It was very dark and edgy. When you have actors like Jaideep Ahlawat and Fatima Sana Shaikh besides you, a lot becomes easy.”

The series required rigorous prep on the part of the actor. Talking about the journey, he says, “The idea to become an actor was to play roles far from my personality. I did a lot of prep. My director (Kanishk Varma) sent me material to read and content to watch related to the Air Force. I also watched many interviews of Air Force pilots and cockpit videos.”

Sharing his association with Kanishk, who earlier helmed Sanak and Inside Edge 3, Armaan gushes, “There was a certain kind of apprehension when you work with someone relatively new but from day one we hit it off. We are close today and I had a great time working with him.”

On a parting note, Armaan spills the beans on different genres he wants to explore. “I want to explore the adventure-mystery space, comedies, intense romance and murder mysteries is what I am keen to do ahead,” he signs off.
