Assam: Magisterial probe into death of two ‘fleeing’ dacoits

SILCHAR: Cachar deputy commissioner Keerthi Jalli has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death of two dacoits who were shot dead while allegedly trying to flee from police custody on Saturday.
Jalli in her order said Lakhipur block development officer and executive magistrate Abhinash Paul will probe the incident. The two wanted dacoits were killed by Cachar police near Sonapur, Meghalaya, on Saturday after they allegedly tried to escape.
