Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 451 medical officers have been promoted to the post of specialist across the state. The government has issued order in this regard, according to health department officials.
After a long gap, medical officers have been promoted to the post of specialists. Around four years ago some experts were given conditional promotion. After that, for the first time, promotion has been made on a permanent basis, the officials added.
Many doctors have been retained after the promotion, while some doctors posted in community health centres and civil hospitals have been shifted to district hospitals.
In Bhopal, some doctors of Civil Hospital Bairagarh, Community Health Centre Gandhinagar, Berasia and Kolar have also been promoted.
Apart from the promotion, direct recruitment is also being done to fill up the posts. The process of direct recruitment will start within a week. On behalf of Madhya Pradesh Medical Officers’ Association, there was a demand for a long time to promote postgraduate medical officers posted in government hospitals of the state and make them specialists.
Now new medical officers can be recruited in the vacant posts. In this way, posts of specialists have been filled up permanently.
