Have strong leads in bank dacoity: Cops

Jaipur: Bhiwadi police investigating the bank dacoity of over Rs 1 crore including cash and jewellery on Tuesday claimed to have got important leads related to the case. Police are in touch with their counterparts in five states including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand and various teams are working on the case.
On Monday, six armed dacoits on three bikes raided an Axis Bank branch at Bhiwadi and after keeping the bank employees and customers hostage at gunpoint fled with gold jewellery and cash worth over Rs 1 crore.
SP Shantanu Kumar on Tuesday said the robbers took around Rs 90 lakh cash. “Initially they had told us that nearly Rs 78 lakh cash had been robbed. After going through their books, accounts and other details, they found that nearly Rs 90 lakh cash was robbed along with jewellery of nearly Rs 25 lakh.”
On progress in the case, Kumar said, “We have collected the CCTV footage of the toll plazas towards Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. There have been inputs that the gang members might have fled towards Uttarakhand.
