Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): First-time voters faced civic problems in their residential colonies. Besides, various issues like employment, capability and efficiency of the candidates to redress problems were in mind of the youths. They looked very enthusiastic though in exercising their franchise showing faith in the democratic set up of the country.

Free Press talked to some young guns

Rakshit Borse (Rajiv Gandhi college polling booth) said, ìIt is my time to caste vote. It is very good for me. I enjoyed it. As far as issues are concerned, local issues were in my mind and I decided to vote for a party which looks capable to solve public problems in a better way.î

Pragya Verma (MCU, Trilanga polling both) said, ìEmployment is the main issue in my mind. It is the first time and it gives me immense pleasure in exercising my franchise in a democratic set up. Youths should focus only on employment, so I did. Similarly, local issues of the colonies were in mind. Overall there are a lot of issues and problems and I voted to elect the public representative.î

I did my part as an aware citizen; I hope you did too

ìI was really looking forward for the polling day. Voting for the first time made me feel like I'm now a responsible citizen of India. It was truly a great feeling to have contributed in choosing a leader, who I hope will work hard for betterment of the state and nation. I reached my booth around 4 in the evening. It wasn't crowded and everyone working there were extremely helpful. They guided me with the procedure. All in all, I had a wonderful experience today. I did my part as an aware citizen; I hope you did too.îMridula Vibin Nair- Booth Address: Dynamic Public school

I felt empowered as I cast my first vote

ìI felt amazing and empowered as I cast my vote for the first time. I feel whoever wins should fulfil promises they made to the public. We are not fools, we all are aware citizens and we select these people with a purpose. They must fulfil their promises and abide by the manifesto that they have published.
