Oves Khan from Bhopal who bagged gold medal after a wait of eight years, in a national body building competition organized by HSF muscle mania in Gujrat, held on July 2 and 3 started to train himself at age of sixteen. Right from the beginning he faced a lot of hardships as he said talking to Free Press Journal.
“The journey of eight years in bodybuilding was not easy but finally the efforts have paid off” Khan was quoted as saying to the FPJ.
Talking about the event Khan said he came to know about the competition just two weeks ahead and he was not ready for the hustle then. Taking one up on the challenge he reduced eight kg in just ten days. Khan works as a gym trainer to manage his diet and travel expenses.
Oves further added that his per day expense on diet costs around three hundred and he has to rely on eggs and fish as he cannot afford expensive protein shakes.
Khan further said, “It is easy to build a good physique through steroids and drugs, but it takes a lot of patience and determination to do it naturally”. The winner expressed that he always took a natural approach to body-building; he never promoted steroids and drugs in a span of eight years of his career.
There were around 150 participants in the competition which were divided into several categories.
Khan won the medal in D category which was for bodybuilding. He said,” I have won several local competitions but winning nationals was always a dream come true”. He had to manage his own stay and expenses in Gujarat as he got no sponsorship for the competition.
