Haryana: Man held for raping, impregnating sister's minor daughter

YAMUNANAGAR: The police have arrested a man for allegedly raping and impregnating his sister's 15-year-old daughter in Haryana's Yamunanagar district.
A police spokesperson said that accused Sanju Vaish (31) of Ambala Cantonment, who was presently residing in Jagadhri was arrested on Monday.
The accused was produced in the district court on Tuesday, which sent him to judicial remand for 14 days.
As per the information, on the complaint of the survivor girl's mother, the Yamunanagar police had registered a case against Sanju under Section 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at a police station of district on July 1.
A woman alleged in complaint to police that her brother Sanju raped her daughter, due to which, she got impregnated.
"My daughter fell ill and I took her to hospital for treatment and after medical, it came to light that she was pregnant for two and a half months", said the woman to police.
The woman said she talked to her daughter who disclosed that her mama (maternal uncle) Sanju had come to their home about two and a half months ago and raped the girl.
"Sanju threatened the minor girl and raped her. He threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anybody, due to which, the girl was scared and remained silent. When the matter came to light, the girl's mother lodged a complaint against her brother", said the Yamunanagar police spokesman.
The police said that the medical examinations of the minor girl and the accused man were conducted besides samples were also sent for DNA test.
