625 new Covid cases, two deaths in region

Chandigarh/Shimla: The region reported 625 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday with a death each in Punjab and Haryana. Punjab reported 121 cases, Haryana 371, and Himachal Pradesh 133.
Punjab’s new cases were in Mohali (33), Ludhiana (23), Jalandhar (15), Barnala (13), Amritsar (9), Patiala (8), Ropar (7), Bathinda (5), Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala (2 each), and Ferozepur, Mansa, Sangrur, Nawanshahr (1 each). The state’s overall Covid tally of 7,63,523 includes 7,44,646 recoveries, 17,780 deaths, and 1,097 active cases. Haryana’s new cases were in Gurgaon (141), Ambala (37), Faridabad (35), Panchkula (29), Hisar (18), Panipat (15), Karnal and Kurukshetra (13 each), Sonipat and Sirsa (12 each), Rohtak (9), Bhiwani (8), Jind (7), Jhajjar and Fatehabad (5 each), Yamyanangar (4), Rewari (3), Charkhi Dadri and Palwal (2 each), and Kaithal (1).
The only death was in Kurukshetra. The Covid tally of 10,17,580 includes 10,04,762 recoveries, 10,425 deaths, and 2,170 active cases. HP reported 129 recoveries. Its new cases were in Kangra (35), Shimla (20), Chamba (19), Mandi (15), Kullu (11), Hamirpur (8), Solan (6), Bilaspur, Lahaul-Spiti, Sirmaur (5 each), and Kinnaur (4). The tally of 2,86,547 includes 2,81,730 cured, 4,122 dead, and 676 active.
