Seven Canberra-based startups have received between $10,000 and $30,000 in matched funding in the latest Innovation Connect round.

Innovation Connect (Icon) is operated by the Canberra Innovation Network in conjunction with the ACT Government to help early-stage businesses with market testing, prototyping, patenting and commercial feasibility studies.

Seven businesses were recipients of the 2022 round of Icon grants.

AppSec Fasttrack uses AI to detect and fixes code defects in a fraction of the time it would normally take.

Bushfire IO has an app to inform and improve decision making in the face of natural disasters.

Lingosing! uses AI-enhanced, grammatically correct nursery rhymes to teach languages.

Powerhaus has developed software that turns energy-efficiency star ratings into practical, decision-oriented graphics for homebuilders.

RediRobots is working on a robotic solution to assist in sorting and handling waste textiles for recycling.

The Easy Read Toolbox produces a resource to increase the use of easy to understand, accessible communication for people with disabilities or low literacy.

Vibe Dynamics aims to facilitate, rehabilitate and promote better sexual function for those with complex medical conditions.

"Canberra’s startups continually show their diversity, breadth and creative thinking with their inspired solutions," said Canberra Innovation Network COO Sharyn Smith.

"The everyday problems that we face as a society are confronted head on by the innovative changemakers that we are so fortunate to have in our city. These ideas are changing the way we do things for the better.”

Applications for the next round will close in September 2022.
